Kris Warren llegó hace 10 años a Camboya para enseñar inglés en un orfanato.
«Amaba lo que hacía pero sabía que le faltaba algo. «Recé. Le dije a Dios que él me conocía. Si quería quedarme aquí necesitaba encontrar a alguien a quien amar y con quien tener una familia». 💑
Entonces, después de tres años, un día se fijó en una joven camboyana que trabaja en la clínica del orfanato. 🔸
«Naome se había criado allí, era huérfana. Su madre murió de un disparo. 🔫 La pequeña, la madre y la abuela estaban un día durmiendo la siesta cuando un vecino borracho empezó a disparar al aire. Una bala alcanzó a su madre. Era la época de la guerra y por eso la gente tenia armas. Su padre se había ido hacía tiempo a otra ciudad a buscar trabajo. Pero allí formó otra familia. Sin embargo, siguió preocupándose por ellos y mandando dinero. 💸 Unos pocos años después murió de una enfermedad. Ella tenía siete años y sus abuelos decidieron enviarla junto con su hermano al orfanato, para que pudiesen tener una educación». 📚
Kris quiso invitar a la joven a un café☕, pero antes tenía que hablar con el director del orfanato. Este le explicó que en Camboya si quería quedar con una mujer tenía que haber un compromiso de por medio. Kris la conocía muy poco pero de nuevo, tuvo fe y decidió apostar todo a una carta. 🔹
Cinco días después se casaron y dos años más tarde nació el primero hijo. Ahora ya son tres. Eli, Luka y Khalo (por Frida Kahlo). Los más mayores han aprendido a hablar khmer e inglés. 🌎📒
‘Khmer Hands’ es el hotel rural que han creado juntos en Kep, un bonito pueblo de la costa. Además han creado una escuela para adolescentes de la zona. Allí enseñan a coser, a cocinar, matemáticas y hostelería. 🔸🔸
Este es el segundo matrimonio de Kris. «Pero ahora soy consciente de que aquella relación era racional. Llevábamos ocho años juntos y lo apropiado fue casarse. Pero con Naome es diferente. Es amor. Sale de mi corazón».💛

He loved what he was doing but he knew he was missing something. «I prayed. I told God that he knew me. If I wanted to stay here I needed to find someone to love and have a family with».💑
So, three years later, he noticed a Cambodian woman that worked at the orphanage’s clinic.
«Naome had been raised there, she was orphan. Her mum died because of a shooting.🔫 One day she, her mum and her grandmother were having a nap when suddenly a drunk neighbor started to shoot into the sky. One bullet hit her mum. It was war time; that’s why people had weapons. 💀 A few years before, her dad had moved to another city trying to find a job, but once he was there he created a new family. However, he continued sending money and taking care of them. 💸 A few years later he died of a disease. She was 7 years old and her grandparents decided to send her to the orphanage with her brother, so that they could receive an education». 📚
Kris wanted to invite the woman for a coffee ☕ , but first he had to ask the director of the orphanage. He explained to him that here in Cambodia if he wanted to date a woman he first had to be engaged to her. Kris didn’t know her very well but he trusted in his faith and he decided to put all his eggs in one basket. 🔹🔸
Five days later they got married and two years later they had their first son. Now, they have three already: Eli, Luka and Khalo. The older ones have learnt how to speak in Khmer and English.🌎
Khmer Hands is a rural hostel created by both of them in Kep, a lovely coastal village. Furthermore, they have created a school for teenagers. They have sewing, cooking, mathematics and hotel industry classes. 🔹📒
This is the second marriage of Kris. «But now im conscious that my other relation was rational. We had been going out for 8 years and the best thing was getting married. But with Naome it’s different. It’s love. It comes from my heart». 💛
